Your home is not a tip jar

Most of what a listing agent does is coordination: getting the details right, getting it on the MLS, booking visits, tracking deadlines. That work is real and worth paying for. It is not worth a percentage of everything you have built up in your house. So we built a way to hire real agents and real people for the work, and never take a cut.

What we stand for, in writing you can hold us to

  • A flat fee, so the price does not scale with your equity

A percentage commission costs more on a $600,000 house than a $300,000 one for work that is largely the same. The fee is fixed and published, and you know it before you start.

  • We are not paid to send you anywhere

No lender, title company, escrow agent or attorney pays us a referral fee or anything contingent on your closing. Nothing on this site is ranked or recommended because someone paid for the placement.

  • We do not hold your money

Earnest money and closing funds go to a licensed escrow holder or attorney, never to us. There is no account here for your money to sit in.

  • You set the price

The estimate shows the sales behind it and the weight each one carried, and the list price field starts empty. Preselecting a number is a nudge, and a nudge in the direction of a faster sale is not a neutral one.

  • A licensed broker actually reviews the listing

Not a checkbox. A person reads it against MLS and state requirements and comments on the specific fields. They cannot edit your answers. The review screen has no inputs.

Where our interests line up with yours, and where they do not

A flat fee means we get paid the same whether your house sells for $380,000 or $430,000. That removes the conflict a percentage creates, an agent earning three per cent gains $1,500 from an extra $50,000 on the price, but loses far more by spending another month getting it.

It creates a different one, and we would rather name it: we are paid up front, so we do not lose money if your house does not sell. Our answer is to be useful enough that you would use us again and tell someone, but you should know the incentive exists rather than take our word for it. It is also why nothing here pushes you toward a lower price.

Things you will never find here

Written down so it is a commitment rather than a mood.

  • Countdown timers, fake scarcity, or 'three other sellers are viewing this'.
  • Testimonials or reviews we did not receive from a real customer.
  • Any claim about what your home will sell for, or that it will sell at all.
  • Savings figures calculated against a commission rate we invented.
  • Selling your contact details, or letting a lender buy your enquiry.
  • Using neighbourhood demographics, school ratings, or anything resembling a protected class in a pricing model.

The real people behind diyre

Your listing is published by a licensed real estate brokerage, and a licensed broker reviews it before it goes anywhere. The brokerage name, licence number and the state it is licensed in appear on your listing and in your account, not buried in a footer - because you are entitled to know whose licence your listing sits under.

We are set up in New York to begin with. One state configured properly is worth more than five configured approximately, and we would rather tell you we do not cover your area than take your money and find out later.
