What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to get it back or erased.

What we collect
Your account details, everything you tell us about your property, the photographs you upload, your communications with buyers and professionals through the platform, and a record of the significant actions taken on your account.
If you are on a tour, we keep the tour, your answers to it, your reactions, ratings and notes on each home, and your messages with the agent.
What we deliberately do not do
Some of these are worth stating plainly because they are choices, not defaults.
- We do not store raw IP addresses. They are hashed with a server-side secret, because a raw IP retained for years is a location history.
- We do not use anything about who lives in an area in the pricing estimate, not school ratings, not demographic composition, not descriptors that stand in for either.
- We do not put personal data in URLs, where it would end up in server logs and browser history.
- Access codes and other secrets are encrypted and are never shown in exports, logs, emails or calendar invites.
Who sees your information
Different people see different things, and the boundaries are enforced in the software rather than by policy. A photographer assigned to your property sees the address and access notes but never your offers. A broker reviewing your listing sees what they need to review it and cannot edit your answers. A buyer holding a link to their own offer reaches that offer and nothing else.
- Service requests: when you ask a professional for a service, your name, how to reach you, your message and where the work is go to that professional and to the other verified professionals who offer the same service in that area, so they can send you offers.
- Tours: the agent who invites you sees your answers, reactions, ratings and messages. If a tour stop is a home listed on diyre, its seller sees the requested showing time and the agent's details, and any rating or review you choose to leave, shown with your first name only. Your private notes on a home are never shown to anyone else. For homes listed elsewhere, our team passes the showing request to the listing office.
- Reviews: a review of a professional, and their reply, is shown publicly with your first name. A rating of a home you toured goes only to that home's seller, with your first name, and only if you choose to share it; the seller's reply comes back to you alone.
- Payments: card details are entered on our payment processor's page and never reach diyre. For licensed real estate work the diyre brokerage, as broker of record, receives the payment and pays the agent; the agent's bank and tax details are held by the processor, and diyre keeps only the references and amounts needed to account for each payment.
- Tax details: a professional's W-9 is kept so payments to them can be reported. The taxpayer number is encrypted, and only its last four digits are ever shown again.
Mobile numbers and text messages
If you give us a mobile number, we use it to confirm it is yours and, only if you opt in, to text you about your listing (see our text message terms). No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. The providers that deliver our messages process your number only to send them. Reply STOP to any text to stop.
Getting your data, and erasing it
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, organised so you can actually read it, along with a list of what is not included and why.
You can ask us to erase it. We will tell you honestly what happens to each part: some is deleted, some is pseudonymised so a completed transaction keeps its shape while you stop being identifiable, and some is retained because a brokerage is required to keep it. A request made while a transaction is still in progress is refused until it closes, because the other party has rights in it too.
